Parent Meeting Minutes

Leticia Hernandez provided an overview of the Academic Junior High Decathlon.

She is requesting the following from the parents:

1. For parents to sign-up and help coach the team members on at least 1 of the subjects for the event. Parents who sign up to coach on a subject must prepare quizzes for the kids on a regular, if not weekly basis. 2. For parents to volunteer and sign up to be a proctor for the event. Proctors monitor an individual team and ensure that their scores are logged and that no cheating takes place.

3. For one parent to help coordinate and manage the lunch for the students and their families on the day of the event. Debbie Santana has volunteered to lead this effort and she's requesting a couple of parents to assist.

There will be meetings during Christmas break. They will be held at Leticia's and Denise Hueth's house. If you'd like to open up your house for one of the future Saturday sessions, please let Leticia or Denise know. Saturday sessions begin at 7:00 am and will last anywhere from 1.5 to 2 hours.
